Prime Minister Modi to speak at Science Congress on 3rd of January

On January 3 at 10:30 am, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will grace the 108th Indian Science Congress with his presence via video conferencing. This year’s theme, “Science and Technology for Sustainable Development with Women Empowerment,” will feature discussions on sustainable development, the empowerment of women, and the role of science and technology in these endeavors. The event aims to increase the representation of women in leadership roles in teaching, research, and industry, as well as provide equal access to STEM education, research opportunities, and economic participation for women.

In addition to the main conference discussions, a special program has been organized to highlight the achievements and contributions of women in science and technology. This program will feature lectures by accomplished female scientists and provide an opportunity to recognize and celebrate the important role that women play in these fields.

In addition to the main conference, several other programs will be held to complement the Indian Science Congress. One such program is the Children’s Science Congress, which aims to foster scientific curiosity and aptitude among young attendees.

In addition to the main conference, the Farmer’s Science Congress will offer a forum to enhance the bio-economy and encourage young people to pursue careers in agriculture. The Tribal Science Congress will also be held, providing a platform for the scientific examination of indigenous ancient knowledge systems and practices, as well as a focus on empowering tribal women.

The first session of the Indian Science Congress was held in 1914, and the 108th annual session will take place at Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University, which is also celebrating its centenary this year.
