Shubhman Gill played more cautiously, scoring 46 runs in 36 balls before being bowled by Hasaranga. Captain Hardik Pandya and Deepak Hooda were both out shortly after arriving at the crease.

However, Suryakumar Yadav continued to play aggressively, scoring his third century in International T20 cricket with a total of 112 runs for the Indian team.
