Ganesh Balakrishnan, the founder of Flatheads, recently took to LinkedIn to share his experience appearing on Shark Tank India. In a lengthy post, Balakrishnan admitted to feeling nervous about the airing of the episode, and was pleasantly surprised by the positive response from viewers. He thanked the “sharks” – Anupam Mittal, Aman Gupta, Vineeta Singh, Peyush Bansal, and Namita Thapar – for helping him gain perspective, as well as Sony and Shark Tank India for giving founders a platform to share their experiences.
Balakrishnan also shared some exciting news about his company, revealing that Flatheads sneakers are now available on Zappos in the US and Infinite Kart in the UAE. He mentioned that the company has almost sold out of inventory in India, and encouraged customers to check out the US and UAE options if they are unable to find their size on the Flatheads website.
In a touching moment, Balakrishnan shared that his 10-year-old daughter is a budding entrepreneur herself, taking pre-orders for her 2023 calendar featuring her paintings. He gave a shout-out to SNITCH and Siddharth Dungarwal for the jacket he wore on the show, and praised the D2C founders community for its honesty, positivity, and willingness to help others.
Balakrishnan ended his post with a message of gratitude to all those who have supported and loved him, and promised to respond to everyone as soon as he can. He also added a playful note about entrepreneurs always selling, apologizing (but not really) for the “shameless plugs” included in his post.
