In a disturbing crime that has sent shockwaves through the community, a 27-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the murder of his friend in north Delhi’s Wazirabad area. According to police, the accused, Munishddin, had an affair with the victim’s wife and the two of them conspired to kill him.
On Saturday, police received reports of a charred body lying in front of Ram Ghat in Wazirabad. Upon investigation, they found that the body had sustained around 90% burns and there were blood spots in the nearby bushes. Police also recovered a paper cutter and a matchbox at the scene.
The victim, identified as Rashid, was a resident of Wazirabad and worked as a plumber. Munishddin, who is a resident of the same area, was employed as an electrician. The two men became friends as they worked together and started visiting each other’s houses. It was during this time that Munishddin and Rashid’s wife began their affair.
According to police, Munishddin and the woman hatched a plot to kill Rashid. On the night of the murder, the accused took Rashid to Ram Ghat and the two consumed alcohol together. In an intoxicated state, Munishddin stabbed Rashid and then slit his throat. He then set the body on fire in an attempt to destroy all evidence and the victim’s identification.
CCTV footage from the area showed the two men together and this led police to focus their investigation on Munishddin. He was subsequently arrested and is currently being held in custody pending further investigation. This tragic incident has sent shockwaves through the community and serves as a reminder of the dangers of infidelity and betrayal.
