It is with great sadness that we report the passing of Shri Keshari Nath Tripathi, a respected and accomplished politician in India. Tripathi was a senior leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and had served as the Governor of West Bengal and Mizoram. He was also a former member of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly, representing the Allahabad South constituency for five terms and the Jhunsi seat once.

In addition to his political career, Tripathi was a well-educated individual, holding a degree in law. He served as the Speaker of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly on three occasions between 1991 and 2004 and also held a position as a Minister in the state government.

Tripathi was known for his contributions to the BJP and was considered instrumental in helping the party make inroads among the Brahmin community in Uttar Pradesh, which had previously largely voted for the Congress.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi took to Twitter to offer his condolences to Tripathi’s family and admirers. In his tweet, PM Modi spoke highly of Tripathi, stating that he was respected for his service and intellect and was well-versed in constitutional matters.

PM Modi expressed his pain at the news of Tripathi’s demise and offered his condolences to his family. “Om Shanti,” he added, which is a Hindu term often used to convey a wish for peace.

Tripathi’s passing is a great loss to the political community in India and he will be remembered for his dedication to public service and his contributions to the growth of the BJP and the state of Uttar Pradesh. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and loved ones during this difficult time.
