Facebook has announced and confirmed their invasion into E-Dating industry where tinder and hinge dominated much of the space. Founder Zuckerberg in an annual developers conference on Tuesday made this official that Facebook is adding a dating feature to its core of services. Meaning the biggest social media platform will now barge in to the online dating world.

Isn’t its vague, that Facebook who helped you as a teen to make friends will now assist you in making romantic relationships.

Mark Zuckerberg says, according to our data every 4th user on our platform owns a single relationship status which indicated us to build a dating feature and help users in “building long-term and meaningful relationships”.

How does Facebook dating app May work?

• Firstly, create a profile with your name by opting in on facebook, neither friends or relatives see your profile that you being looking for relationships.

• Browse event in your city and groups that matches your interests select to “unlock” for dating and then see the profiles of others.

• You can also browse through people’s profile that shows their profile,photos,and other information. Being the largest social media platform no wonder that Facebook can offer better matches from the broader user base.

• If both the users are intrested,you will be able to start a conversation in a special encrypted inbox separate from messenger. ( Sources, non official)

According to an article on recode, this new feature on Facebook will be completely ads free, they might ask for a nominal fee or some other ways to generate revenue.

We’ll probably be having Facebook dating app on our smart phone by the end of this year. Data breach incident did tainted Facebook’s credibility in securing user data. Privacy and security will be definitely on the top of the list before opting in to use dating feature developed by “Facebook”.
