Ever since Facebook’s founder Zuckerberg announced Facebook’s entry to the online dating division with Facebook dating app, Tinder has been constantly depicted in danger or on verge of loosing in the dating game. Even Tinder’s stock took a deep down hit on the very same day of announcement.

Owner of Tinder, Match Group’s CEO Mandy Ginsberg said in an official statement “we are not worried by the dating tool which Facebook revealed last week. The social media giant’s move could help de-stigmatise the online dating scene”. He added “average user of online dating services was active on three apps at a time and that it was not a winner take all market”. Rather Facebook could help to remove hesitation to join dating apps which ultimately increasing Tinder and other services user in the same niche.

TinderApp, has almost 3.5 Million active users across the globe which is insignificantly less in comparison with number of people using Facebook which is estimated to about 2.2 Billion. This indicates the humongous gap in people comfort level with social media but not with online dating.

Earlier there were news and reports about Facebook is developing a whole new method of selecting or rejecting profiles unlike in tinder where swiping shows interest or disinterest. It will be interesting to see if Facebook extends their “login with Facebook” feature for ease of signing up on tinder.
