This highly anticipated crime thriller is being directed by the talented duo Raj and DK, and is expected to be released on OTT platforms in February 2023. In addition to Shahid Kapoor, the series will also feature the acting talents of Vijay Sethupathi, Raashii Khanna, and Kay Kay Menon. Dude, Kapoor just dropped the teaser for Farzi and it’s fire. He titled it “Naya saal, naya maal” (New year, new stuff) and it gives us a short but super interesting look into the show. Kapoor is seen painting and breaking the fourth wall to talk about a “new phase” in his life and wondering if we’ll like it. And from the teaser, it looks like Kapoor is playing an artist in Farzi.
Kapoor said he wanted to try something new and step out of his comfort zone by moving to OTT. He’s all about feeling challenged and excited, and saw the chance to play a character over multiple episodes as a way to do that. He also mentioned that OTT is way different from just acting in one film or TV show and he really loved it.
According to reports, Farzi was originally supposed to be a film but got turned into a series for Amazon Prime Video instead. It’s described as a fast-paced, one-of-a-kind thriller about an artist who gets mixed up in a risky con job and a task force officer on a mission to rid the country of dangers.
