Bankers Association Announced Two Days Work Strike, Services Will Be Hit

Bankers Association New Delhi : Two bank employee associations namely, All India Bank Employees Association (AlBEA) and the Bank Employees Federation of India (BEFI) have announced a two day work strike which would be in effect on 8th & 9th January. This came in support of the strike called by 10 central trade unions in Sep, 2018. The agenda behind unions calling shutdown is to protest against Government’s policies against workers welfare/ Anti-worker.

The 10 central trade unions included LPF, AITUC, HMS, CITU, AIUTUC, INTUC, TUCC, SEWA, AICCTU, UTUC, AIRF and NFIR.

National convention of workers (NCW) said, government has scrapped off 44 Central Labour Laws which were crucial for workers welfare, and added with 4 new “employer favouring Laws/codes”. Unions have forwarded 12 demands before Modi Government.

national organisation of bank workersNational Organisation of Bank Workers (NOBW) has dissociated themselves from the bandh. Bank branches under NOBW will be functioning normal on these days. NOBW’s General Secretary Ashwani Rana has confirmed via a press release (attached).
